Blood Group Serology and Transfusion Medicine

The Department of Blood Group Serology and Transfusion Medicine ensures that the Styrian population is provided with blood components, stem cell transplants, tissue preparations and new cell therapeutics. In our newly established GMP core facility, new cell therapeutics (ATMP) are developed and produced in compliance with the law and according to the latest good manufacturing practice standards. Our core competences include specific research topics related to blood formation (hematopoiesis) and blood group systems (immunohematology).
